Cyril Despres was the 2008 winner of the Dakar Rally and took 2nd place in 2009. The 2009 rally was possibly the last fully supported Dakar, by the Factory KTM team. All the other KTM team members are all using Supersprox as standard equipment on their bikes. KTM factory change the sprocket at the half way point as a precaution and each rider uses just 2 sprockets during the 5,000 miles or high speed racing. No other sprocket will last as long on the torturous test of the famous Dakar rally. |
